UNIR1 RECORDS · BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CASE STUDY · 2012–2013
← Back to portfolioThe UNIR1 Records RPM model combined artist promotion, media distribution, website services, and long-term relationships in a memorable tiered offering.
I founded UNIR1 Records as part of the You and I Are One Network. Drawing on the familiar speeds of vinyl records. 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM. I developed promotional service packages artists could understand, purchase, and grow with. The model later included higher-value Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tiers.
Original historical brochures and marketing materials are preserved below. Prices describe advertised offers, not confirmed sales or revenue.

THE BUSINESS CONCEPT
Vinyl records were known by the speed at which they played. I used that association to make UNIR1's packages memorable: the higher the RPM, the broader the promotional offering.
The underlying value wasn't just airplay. Artists could access a connected mix of distribution agreements, websites, digital storefronts, radio and television promotion, interviews, featured articles, and customer support. Package terms and services evolved across the surviving 2013 brochures.
It was a relationship-first model: contact the artist, understand their goals, present an appropriate package, help them get started, coordinate promotional work, and maintain the connection through ongoing service.

WHAT THE BUSINESS DELIVERED
Structured clearly priced promotional tiers, with monthly and longer-term purchase options, and communicated their value through original sales brochures.
Used direct outreach and one-on-one communication to introduce services, explain options, help artists begin, and coordinate ongoing support.
Combined radio/TV opportunities, interviews, artist features, and promotional production with the UNIR1 Network's broadcaster relationships.
Offered artist websites, domains, stores, distribution support, search visibility, social promotion, and technical assistance through a connected service model.
RELATED SERVICE LINE

UNIR1 Radio also advertised a separate station-setup offering. Its 2012 brochure describes custom station websites, domain and email setup, streaming, show scheduling, social media pages, directories, listener statistics, promotional assets, and technical support.
The brochure listed an annual purchase option and a monthly plan with a setup fee. This shows that the broader network served both recording artists and radio station operators with ongoing digital media services.

PROFESSIONAL TAKEAWAY
The RPM model brought together product packaging, consultative sales, client onboarding, recurring services, digital operations, and ongoing relationship management. Those are the same disciplines I bring to customer success, business development, and media operations today.
